IN PERSON SESSIONS
Our in-person sessions are customised to meet the unique needs and goals of each individual. They are play-based, interactive, and sensory-focused, designed to suit everyone differently. We observe behaviours and emotions closely, taking a hands-on approach.
Effective communication is key with caregivers as we determine what works and what doesn't, covering all aspects of the therapy process.
Our online sessions are tailored to cater to each individual's specific needs and goals just like our in-person sessions. We closely observe behaviours and emotions through the screen. Effective communication is key as we explore whats working and what not, covering all aspects of the therapy process in the virtual setting.
ONLINE SESSIONS
services & style
As an occupational therapist, I provide a range of specialised interventions to support children. These include behavioral support, sensory processing and sensory diets, emotional regulation techniques, classroom skill development, toilet training assistance, emotional support, and training for parents and caregivers. Each intervention is tailored to the unique needs of the child, promoting their overall well-being and functional abilities.
What might a session look like?
During a session, I might start by engaging the child in a fun warm-up activity, like playing with sensory toys or doing some stretching exercises. Then, we would work on specific tasks that target their individual goals, such as improving fine motor skills or enhancing coordination.
For example, we might play a game where the child has to pick up small objects using tweezers to enhance their hand-eye coordination and fine motor control. Or we might engage in an arts and crafts activity that focuses on improving their grip strength and pencil control.
Throughout the session, I would observe their behaviors and emotions, providing guidance and support as needed. It's important to create a safe and encouraging environment where the child feels comfortable expressing themselves and trying new things.
By the end of the session, we aim to have achieved progress towards their goals while also ensuring that the child had a positive and enjoyable experience.
